An extensive laboratory investigation of plain and reinforced concrete members subjected to torsion is being reported in a series of papers. This paper reports tests of 53 reinforced concrete beamns which were subjected to pure torsion to investigate the effect of eight variables. The behavior before and after cracking was extensively studied.
