Physical and geotechnical properties of soils
Based on the research results (Mehikawati, 2010) Bayat land, Klaten has a value of w = 87.5%, Gs = 2.625, LL = 77.25%, PL = 50%, SL = 16.026%, PI = 27.25% distribution of granules are: gravel = 0%, sand = 26.67%, clay = 73.33%. is a clay soil (MH or OH) and belongs to groups A-7-5 (25) which means including clay soil with medium to high plasticity, it is necessary to refine. In this study, the improvement was done by giving gypsum addition and rice husk ash variation 0%, 2.5%, 5%, 7,5%, and 10% from sample weight. Test methods include physical properties test, Proctor standard test and consolidation test on native soil and mixed soil. The result of physical properties test showed that the increasing percentage of rice husk ash and 5% gypsum value, plastic limit, shrinkage limit, increasing, while water content, specific gravity, liquid limit, plasticity index and pass filter. 200 is declining. Proctor standard test results obtained the weight value of the maximum dry volume increased and the value of the optimum water content decreased with the addition of rice husk ash and 5% gypsum. The maximum dry weight volume value was 1.61 gr / cm3 and the lowest optimum moisture content was 17% in mixed soil with the addition of 5% gypsum and 10% rice husk ash. The result of consolidation test shows that the increasing percentage of mixed coefficient (Cv) adds, while the value for index value (Cc) and decreasing of consolidation (Sc) decreases. Original ground Cv value of 0,00413 cm2 / s, Cc value equal to 0,5036 and Sc value equal to 0,1069cm. The highest Cv value is 0,00475 cm2 / s, the lowest Cc nilsai 0,3425 and the lowest Sc score 0,0830 cm obtained in mixed soil with percentage of 5% gypsum and 10% rice husk ash.
