Discrete And Integrated Electronics
"Discrete" and "integrated" are terms describing the level of assembly or function within electronic components and systems. Discrete refers to individual, separate components like transistors or diodes with single functions, often used for greater power handling and design flexibility. In contrast, integrated refers to multiple functional elements, such as transistors, resistors, and capacitors, combined onto a single semiconductor chip, leading to smaller, more cost-effective, and efficient devices, albeit with limitations in individual component control.
